Week 1 - I created a brainstorm of ideas of potential ideas for my final major projects. I have written a mind map of different ideas next week I will come up with my final idea. Week 2 - I have now come up with the idea of a documentary about hair but I will be conducting interviews so I need to think about who I would like to interview and get in contact with them. I have drawn out a mood board of things that inspire me and i will include this in my documentary. Next week I will create a shotlist. Week 3 - I contacted a friend who recently shaved her hair and she interested in being a part of my documentary. I have conducted a focus group with people in my classroom to find out what they would like to know when my documents you and what they already know. Next week I will be conducting a focus group with hairdressers which is better suited for my demographic. Week 4 - when I tried to interview the hairdressers it didn't go to plan due to miscommunication so I'll be using my focus group of my classroom as part of my primary research. Week 5 - I shot an interview with my friend with the shaven head which i plan to put mid documentary. The interview went well however we shot the scenes outdoors so im nervous therell be complications with the audio. Week 6 - I visited a Salon in Clapham to interview a buisness owner whos been involved in the hair industry all her life. Upon looking at the footage I regret not using a tripod because i used a Steadicam so the footage came out incredibly shaky. So the next interview i film will be used with a tripod.
Week 7 - Now I have used tripods for most scenes my footage is looking smoother and put together. I finished another interview with a hairdresser in Richmond but things arent looking up as my stepfather wiped the footage of my friend because he assumed i saved the footage elsewhere. Next time I will be using my own SD card to keep my files safe.
Week 8 - I have started slowly editing my work , I find editing efficient and easy if you've written a shot list and know how your works going to look. I used Adobe Premier , a programme I am not very familiar with but have gotten used to. Next week I will create a simplistic poster for "Hair"
