1 shot as a contemporary remake of 400 blows intertwines nicely, I especially love the last scene in 400 blows which is what i remade for 1 shot where the young boy runs to the sea and the scene freezes with him in the air.
Upon reflecting on my trailer there are a few changes i’m going to make to keep in mind for next time , I shot my trailer in Basketball court but didnt use a basketball but instead a football which doesnt tie into the location although it worked. Next I am going to get my actor to wear appropriate clothes that fit in with his character (basketball shorts and a vest). I enjoyed shooting in the basketball court and had to wait for a few hours when the court wasn't booked up so I had a lot of time and freedom to shoot when the court was available. Looking back at the footage the scenes all look really dark however when I color corrected them they became even worse so I left them as is. In the edit the trailer really came together as I followed my storyboard which helped me gage where each scene would fit. I was originally going to use Eminem - Lose Yourself but thought i'd go with a more underground song with the same vibe, the song i ended up using was 3D - GAIKA because the tempo and pace of the song matched my trailer more accurately than Eminem also.
I added subtitles to add more context to the trailer so when the audience view this trailer they get more to the storyline apart from what is being shown in the mise en scene. The mise en scene in my trailer gives a lot of information to the audience about the type of character the young man is.
