I decided to go against the idea of my first day at school due to running into a few problems which prevented me from being able to execute my production. Before going to Burntwood school (my old secondary school) I called the establishment and acquired how to gain access to the building to maybe film some scenes in the classroom, record some school children telling me their experiences in school now and how its c changed, so i recieved an email from the headmaster allowing me to visit the school on Friday the 20th of January. As i try to enter the school compound I am greeted by security guard who doesn't allow me into the school upon seeing me and my camera equipment so I wasn't able to do the first day of school scene
I wanted to shoot the scene of my first time getting drunk exactly how people described it to me :
"Slow"
"Everything was paused"
"Black out"
"Long"
"All of a sudden it hits you out of nowhere"
The synopsis of my story and the emotion it was meant to reflect onto the audience was the drowsy slow feeling you get from drinking the first time. I composed the beginning of the shops simply and minimally by having a medium close up bottle of Hennessey (Brand of alcohol) facing words so you can see the label and intially know what this installation could be about, I then record myself pouring a glass of cognac for a long time to get the audience to reflect about their memory;s of drinking alcohol
Im going to present my art installation by presenting each scene to be played on a loop on a different computer. I want the audience to be sat on their knees with their arms out to remind them of the uncomfortable feeling you get when you drink too much
This short clip explains a young woman's terrifying experience of her first time getting drunk, she explains her negative experience of drinking alcohol.
